The time has come again: It’s Super Bowl season! Even if your favorite team was out of the running for the championship long ago, it’s still a fun event where you can celebrate and eat. A lot. Oh, and watch the game, too. And just because we’re all staying home this year doesn’t mean the fun should stop!! Whether you’re throwing a small at-home gathering with your family or entertaining people with a virtual party, we rounded up some Super Bowl hosting tips you should know.
Plan ahead
Even if it’s just you and your fam, plan your menu ahead of time so that you can make your shopping list part of your weekly grocery run. Or better yet, get groceries delivered and avoid the store entirely! That way, on the day of, you can have a drink in hand and just focus on cooking.
Know your partygoers.
Good party planners know their audience. And you’ve undoubtedly spent an ungodly amount of time with your quarantine audience.
Does your Super Bowl watch party include kids under 8? Or a 65-year-old unimpressed by football? They will surely need different things to stay engaged. The children could be interested in creating decorations, the 65-year-old in your pod could be more interested in playing bartender.
Check in with yourself, too. It’s OK to admit that even the most rabid football fans among us may be feeling awfully meh about the game this year.
And don’t forget the food. Make sure you have varieties that meet your party goers needs, and be prepared for the unexpected when someone shows up with a food that does not fit.
How to make sure you keep everyone at your Super Bowl party well hydrated
Watching a sporting event without your beverage of choice just feels wrong, and that feeling is magnified on Super Bowl Sunday. This is the time to stock up on your lucky cup, and to ensure that everyone at your gathering has easy access to drinks all night. The last thing you want is to be interrupted every down by someone asking where they can get a refresh.
Having a drink center will make guests feel welcome and comfortable serving themselves. While you may not worry so much about an actual cooler if you live in a cold climate, you’ll still want to ensure that drinks are easy to come by for everyone.
The party doesn’t have to stop just because we all need to be more cautious and soldier through restrictions and regulations for a while longer. With upgraded gear, some planning, and a little bit of creativity, this year’s Super Bowl party can go off without a hitch.
